Proud to support the next generation, BLTA awarded a $500 scholarship to a student in the Architectural Technology program at Vanier College during the college’s year-end celebration. Denis C. Blais, Partner Architect, accompanied by Isabelle Ly, a Vanier College graduate and Architectural Technologist at BLTA for the past two years, presented the scholarship to Paola Midley Candio in recognition of her perseverance and determination throughout her studies. Congratulations, Paola, and to all the graduates who will form the next generation of professionals!

At the 17th edition of the Grands Prix du Design, the lobby project of 1001 Robert-Bourassa, in collaboration with Gensler, received a Gold certification in the Interior Design / Common Area category. Architecture and design firm BLTA is proud to announce the appointment of Marie-Claude Thibault as partner, alongside partner architects Olivier Legault, Denis C. Blais and Cyr Beauchemin. This nomination testifies to the confidence of BLTA’s leaders in her great skills, and a well-deserved recognition of her indispensable role and commitment to the company. Marie-Claude has been working for over 20 years as an interior designer and project manager. She joined BLTA in 2013 with a mandate to develop the firm’s interior design division, a mission she successfully accomplished and continues to lead. Hence, she greatly contributes to the firm’s reputation with major corporate clients, and she is a source of inspiration to her colleagues. Her career is rich in experience on projects of varied scope and in a wide range of sectors: office, residential, hotel, commercial and restaurant. Recognized for her creativity, consistency and, above all, her extraordinary energy, Marie-Claude is a natural leader with excellent project management skills. She favors a human and direct approach, equally in her connections with clients, business partners, and co-workers. Together, the quartet of partners will pursue the firm’s expansion and fulfillment and continue being actively involved in the development and enhancement of Montreal’s urban landscape and its living spaces. Work on the building envelope is progressing with the installation of precast concrete panels and the roof.

Residential tower Victoria sur le Parc sees its first residents move in and enjoy all the amenities this lady of glass has to offer. National Bank of Canada employees are also discovering their new workspaces in the 10-storey commercial podium known as Le 700 Saint-Jacques. In consonance with Square Victoria, the urban park comes to life at the foot of the tower. This dynamic new space will benefit residents and passers-by alike, who will be charmed by the harmonious surrounding blend of modern and historic architecture.

The 15th edition of the Grand Prix du Design Awards took place on October 12. The high-end condominium project Le Mansfield won Award of the Year in the category Construction & Real Estate – Real Estate Development. Congratulations to all the project team!
